(Nederlands) Bay Area Book Festival

11/04/2019 · 18:35

From the 2th of Mai until the 7th I will be guest on the Bay Area Book Festival in the U.S together with Dutch illustrator Mylo Freeman. We will perform on the stages together with our American collegues. Also we will visit some schools. I am extra happy because the American publication of ‘Fings War’ ( de Hemel van Heivisj), the sequel to Nine Open Arms (Honour Batchelder Award) will be published in the beginning of May! And again the book is beautifully translated bij John Nieuwenhuizen.

Here is the cover of the next book of Ludwig Volbeda and me. It will be published in March 2019. Ludwig had been drawing the illustrations all summer long. They will be in colour! Tomorrow I will go and visit him to see all the wonderful drawings he has created. It feels like it’s my birthday!

I will write a text inspired by the residence and this text will be performed at openingnight. The invitation is part of ‘Les phares du Nord’  an initiative of the Letterenfonds to promote Dutch and Flamish literature in France. I’m very curious of the citylife. And of the festival of course…

The books will be presented on the bookfairs of Bologna and Frankfurt. And they also made a beautiful booklet with all the titles involved. Hooray!
